why The Glue bond is improtant for Coated abrasives
In glue bond of coated abrasives are still used to polishing for some workpieces. This is
because animal hide glue is used for both the maker and sizer adhesives
coats. The glue may be used alone or with an inert filler or extender.
For this reason is that animal glue has a tendency to soften from the
normal heat of grinding, glue bond products usually produce a more
uniform, less harsh finish , in the case of fine grits can be easily
buffed out. In my view, although they conform well and produce a
superior finish, they lack the shed resistance ,durability and stock
removal potential of resin bond products.
